PAWS in the Park
Every year on the 2nd Saturday after Labor Day,?? P.A.W.S. of Michigan takes over Young Patriots Park in Riverview, MI and holds PAWS in the Park, a dog walk and pet lovers festival. ?? Paws in the Park features
- a pledge-based stroll around the pond with people and their pets
- event t-shirts and goody bags
- animal adoptions
- kids tent and moonwalk
- nail trimming ($5)?? and “Ask the Vet” featuring a veterinarian from Gibraltar Veterinary Hospital
- “Clowns Around Redford” clowns and face painting
- music by Wild Wayne
- reading with Lorrie the Pet Psychic
- microchipping by The PAWS Clinic, available for $25
- a performance by local band “Caught in a Zipper”
- P.A.W.S. of Michigan merchandise and bake sale

- Canine Good Citizen Certification and obedience demo by Downriver Dogs Obedience and AAA Pet Services
- food and beverage for sale by Matthewson’s Concessions, Bearclaw Coffee Company, Kettle Corn of Michigan, Stone Pizza, A Serendipity Cakery, and Detroit Mini Donut
- personalized pet ID tags while you wait

A complete schedule of events is available.?? You won’t want to miss a thing!?? Bring your dog in costume for added fun, and to be eligible for our “Best Costume” contest.
Pre-registrations for the event are $20 per dog, and be accepted through September 10th. ?? Registrations the day of the event are $30 per dog.?? To preregister, fill out a registration form and mail it to the address on the form.?? You can also register online at active.com.?? Note that there is a $3.95 service change for registering at active.com.
Collecting pledges is optional.?? Pledging helps increase your support of PAWS in the Park and P.A.W.S. of Michigan, and makes you eligible for some great prizes.?? If you would like to collect pledges, please download the pledge form.
