Welcome to P.A.W.S. of MichiganFrankie update
We are very saddened to report that the cardiologist at MSU said that Frankie is not a candidate for a pacemaker. The test that was run there today determined that Frankie has a bad valve, and so the pacemaker surgery will not help him the way that we thought it would. We are in the process of discussing the alternatives presented by the cardiologist with Frankie’s regular veterinarian, and we will post updates as we have them. For now, Frankie is comfortable and happy, and we will do what we feasibly can to keep him that way.
The outpouring of support for Frankie has been overwhelming and inspirational. Deepest thanks to all of you who donated so generously towards his pacemaker. For those of you who donated online or by check, we will be glad to refund your donation. Please email donations@pawsofmichigan.com if you would like a refund. If you choose not to request a refund, please know that we will use your donation to help other dogs or cats that need a second chance. We apologize that we cannot refund cash that was donated for Frankie in donation jars as we have no way to track those donations, but be assured that we will use your donations to help other animals in our program.
All of us at P.A.W.S. are shocked and devastated by this news. We are sure that feeling is shared by all of you who opened your hearts and/or your wallets for Frankie. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.
We will post updates on Frankie’s condition as we have them.
