Spay/Neuter Assistance

The P.A.W.S. V-SNAP (Valerie’s Spay/Neuter Assistance Program) is a special program designed to help families who could not otherwise afford to have their animals sterilized.    It is named after Valerie Koths, one of our founding members/Board member who passed away in February 2013.  Valerie was passionate about animal welfare issues, particularly the importance of spaying and neutering, and saved thousands of lives through her involvement in our spay/neuter and adoption programs.

The V-SNAP is not a general low-cost spay/neuter program.  It is designed to help only people who have a demonstrated need.

Surgeries through the V-SNAP are performed at The PAWS Clinic in Taylor, Michigan.  Assistance is available only if the V-SNAP has available funding.  Funding is through directed donations and grants.

Cost

$70 for dogs up to 75 pounds (slightly higher fee for larger dogs)

$29 for cats

(Vaccines available for an additional charge)

Additional subsidy may be available on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of P.A.W.S. and based on the availability of funds.

Qualifications for V-SNAP Assistance

Proof of need must be provided.  To qualify, you must have a Bridge card or Medicaid (Michigan Green Medicaid Card).   You must show proof of assistance.
