Sam knows how to pick a winning football team!!

Sam was brought into the shelter by a caring person who found him with a badly injured leg. Despite the obviously serious injury, Sam never stopped purring and rubbing his head in the hands of those trying to help him. Volunteers knew he needed to see a veterinarian, and enlisted the help of Dr. Carol McKee at Southpointe Veterinary Hospital in Allen Park. X-rays showed that Sam's leg was broken into 5 pieces, but Dr. McKee felt she could pin and wire the leg and save it! She also offered to do the surgery for this sweet, friendly kitten at no charge!! Sam had surgery on Monday, October 13th, and is doing extremely well. He's getting a little tired of having to be immobile. He feels fine and wants to be a kitten, but Dr. McKee's orders are that his movement be restricted until his leg has set. Through it all, Sam just purrs on.

Sam will be available for adoption when his leg has completely healed, which will likely be in early December.

Even though Dr. McKee generously donated her time to fix Sam's leg, there are still other considerable medical expenses (the supplies and medicine during and after the surgery). Please help Sam by donating to his fund at
